How to Remove Pool Stains with Citric Acid

Citric acid is a gentle yet effective way to treat stubborn stains in your pool. Here’s a simple process:

1. Lower chlorine levels in your pool to near zero (citric acid won’t work effectively with high chlorine).

2. Adjust pH to around 7.2 for best results.

3. Dissolve citric acid – mix 500g of citric acid in a bucket of warm water for every 40,000L of pool water.

4. Distribute evenly by pouring the solution around the pool edges.

5. Run the pump for 1–2 hours, then turn it off and let the water sit for 12–24 hours. Stains will begin to lift.
