Viva Blu Stabilised Trichlor Tablets — high-strength, slow-release chlorination for industrial and commercial water treatment. Each 200 g tablet is pressed from high-purity trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA, ≥90% available chlorine) with built-in cyanuric stabilisation, delivering a controlled dissolution profile that holds a consistent free-chlorine residual with minimal dosing intervention. Supplied in a 25 kg drum of approximately 125 tablets.

Key Features

  • High-potency formula: ≥90% available chlorine for effective bacteria, algae and pathogen control in treated water circuits.
  • Slow-dissolving action: releases chlorine gradually over an extended period — suited to “set-and-monitor” dosing regimes in continuously operating systems.
  • UV-stabilised: cyanuric acid content protects the chlorine residual from sunlight breakdown in outdoor and exposed installations.
  • Feeder-compatible: 75 mm × 25 mm tablet format fits inline erosion feeders and floating dispensers.
  • Bulk value: economical 200 g tablets reduce replacement frequency and handling time in high-volume applications.

Applications & Use Cases

  • Industrial cooling towers: intermittent or supplemental biocidal dosing for Legionella risk management in open recirculating systems, as part of a broader water treatment programme per AS/NZS 3666.
  • Process & wash-down water: sanitising recirculating systems in manufacturing, food processing and HVAC applications.
  • Irrigation systems: shock and line dosing for biofilm and algae control in drip and sprinkler lines where cyanuric acid stabilisation is acceptable.
  • Potable water systems: disinfection of wells, cisterns and municipal supplies (verify compliance with the relevant drinking-water guidelines before dosing).
  • Wastewater & reuse: effluent treatment for recycling into irrigation or industrial cooling.
  • Ornamental water features and fountains: algae and microbial control in non-potable water bodies.
  • Storage tank disinfection: shock dosing of non-potable storage tanks and water carts.
  • Aquaculture facilities: equipment disinfection and facility wash-down (not for direct dosing into aquaculture water without specific regulatory clearance).

Dosing & Use Guidelines

  • Pre-treatment check: test the water with a reliable kit (DPD test strips or digital meter) using fresh reagents. Keep cyanuric acid below 50 ppm to avoid over-stabilisation.
  • Dosing guideline: add 1 × 200 g tablet per 20,000 litres of treated water. For shock treatment, use 2–3 tablets and retest after 24 hours.
  • Placement & timing: dose via an inline erosion feeder or floating dispenser. Dose in the evening or while the system is offline to maximise UV protection.
  • Routine monitoring: maintain 1–3 ppm free chlorine and pH 7.2–7.6; check daily in high-demand circuits and never exceed 5 ppm chlorine.
  • pH management: TCCA is acidic in solution — monitor and buffer total alkalinity in low-buffered systems.

Safety & Storage

Dangerous goods Class 5.1 (oxidising agent), Subsidiary Risk 8, UN 2468, Packing Group II. Wear gloves and eye protection during handling. Store cool, dry and sealed in the original container, away from acids, ammonia compounds, and other oxidisers or combustibles. Never mix with other chemicals. In case of skin or eye contact, flush immediately with water and seek medical advice. SDS available on request.
